Catching up...

I haven't written anything in quite some time, so i
am due for an update. Carson is doing great! He is
at a really fun age where he does all sorts of
interesting things. He got his first set of
stitches a few months ago but is totally healed
now. He likes to help get the dogs in and got his
finger caught in the back door. The nail is growing
back and he might have a little dent in his finger,
but you really can't tell. He still likes to show
everyone he meets his "ouchie".
He is talking a lot and has become quite huggy. He
likes to hug everyone and waves and says "hi" and
"bye bye". At the grocery store he stays busy
greeting his fans. Carson took his first trip
recently to Arizona. He did pretty well on the
flight, although wanted to run around at one point.
He was not allowed to get down and run but really
wanted the chance. He loved the planes at the air
port and now points at everyone he sees in the sky.
He met his great grandma Webster on the trip, great
uncle Bruce, went to 2 Sox spring games and went to
a zoo. It was a busy trip. He did well but is
recovering now. He has been sleeping a lot!
Other items of interest include his upcoming second
birthday. I am not sure what we will do for the
party, other than have family over for lunch and
cake. Carson has started going pee pee on his
little potty every night before his bath. He is
doing pretty well and should be ready to potty
train this summer. We are excited to not have to
use diapers anymore!
I think those are the updates. I hope everyone is
well...

18 Months

Hello all! I wanted to send a quick update. I added
some new professional pictures. Those were really
difficult to capture. He was afraid of the flash
and the pop of the bulbs. He squinted for 10
minutes after each picture. At least we got a few
good ones!
Carson is growing and changing like crazy. He is a
chatter box, always babbling about something. He is
walking and running and always into something. He
loves the toilet as well as the toilet brush. Why
do we even buy him toys? Carson is quite the dancer
and finger painter as well. He is a lot of fun
right now. He is actually home with Ryan today and
they are having pj day. I am missing out at work.
We are looking forward to putting up the Christmas
tree. His favorite expression is, "oh wow!", so we
anticipate him saying that to the tree. This is a
fun age. Enjoy the new pictures.

16 Months

Here's an update for Lisa... Carson is continuing
to grow and change every day and has been so much
fun. He is not a baby anymore. Now he is a running,
talking fit throwing toddler. He chatters all the
time and we are not always sure what he is saying,
but "oh boy" and "oh wow" are common. He loves to
help with the dogs. He tries to feed them and brush
them and they enjoy that too. This morning he was
upset with Ivy because she would not listen to me
(she was on the couch). He stood next to her and
kept yelling "Ivy, No!". He is so helpful. Carson
spent a weekend with Grandma and Grandpa Whitaker
and was caught trying to load the front loading
washing machine. I guess he watched Grandma put
clothes in and wanted to help. He is just funny.
His hair is getting crazier and will hopefully calm
a little as it gets longer. Check the new pictures
out that I took with my phone at the beach. I will
add new videos soon too.

Update, finally...

I recognize that I am a little behind on my blogs
and I received a request to update some things.
First, I added some new videos because Carson is
a walking man now. I also added pictures under "1
year" and under "Professional Pictures". Check
all that out. The news on our end is that we
continue to enjoy a healthy, energetic child.
Carson is a little peanut but walking and talking
like a toddler. He weighed 21 pounds at his 1
year checkup and I cannot remember his length but
he went up a percentile in that category. He now
has six teeth, so eating is getting a little
easier. Ryan and I are really enjoying Carson
right now and have had the opportunity to take
him to some fun places. We have gone to two White
Sox games (one in May and one in June). He did
pretty well and the stadium is very child
friendly. He got a ball at the first game from a
closing pitcher from Cleveland and then got four
autographs from White Sox people at the second
game (Crede, Konerko, Quintin and a coach). Last
weekend Carson, Oliver and Ivy spent the weekend
with Grandma Sharon and Grandpa Steve. Ryan and I
went to Cedar Point and then a Cleveland Indians
game. We also were able to spend some time with
Adam and Lisa, which was great!
Here is a funny story from this morning. Oliver
was relaxing on the dog couch and Carson was
petting his head. I looked over again and watched
Carson put his pacifier in Oliver's mouth. Oliver
kept it there for a few seconds and it was in
straight and everything. That would be a great
picture if I could get that to happen again!
In other news... I will be starting a new job in
August. I will be a therapist at Valparaiso
University and will also coordinate their drug
and alcohol education programming. I am so
excited to work with college students and will
also have my summers off starting next year! The
perks are great. I believe those are the updates
for now, but I am sure there will be more fun
happenings as the summer progresses.

First word

I had to add an update this week. First, Carson
has had 3 more teeth break through, so there is a
lot of drool at our house. He is on the move all
the time as well. He crawls very fast and also is
close to walking. He pulls himself up and then
lets go. He can do about five steps before he
takes a nose dive. He is a dare devil because he
does not hold the furniture and walk, he just
lets go. Carson will be walking soon.
The other exciting update is that baby Carson met
the origional Carson this past weekend. We went
to Dayton for a wedding and drove to Cincinnati
on Sunday to visit with Carson. While at Carson's
apartment, Carson said his first word (that was
recognizable). He was playing on the floor with
his baby flip cell phone. He opened it, put it to
his ear and said "Hewwo". He proceeded to pause,
babble, pause, babble and hang up. Then, he did
it again. Either he watches more than I realize
or I spend too much time on my phone! It could be
both! For a few weeks, it has sounded like he
says "doggie" a lot but we could not tell for
sure. So, Carson's first official word
is "hello". All of our visits last weekend were
nice. Carson got to swim with Uncle Mike, which
he loved and he got to meet big Carson. We are
less than two weeks away from the first birthday,
so I am sure I will send an update after that
event.

10 Months

I am behind on my updates as usual and he is
almost 11 months at this point. Carson is growing
so fast and changing rapidly! He is adorable and
looking more like a little boy. He is all over
the place and crawling a few steps at a time. He
finds rolling to be a more effecient mode of
travel. He also loves to walk with his hands held
and will cry if you made him stop walking. He
might actually skip crawling and walk but we will
see. He is also a very chatty baby. He talks, in
his own way, non-stop. He says uh-oh over and
over and someone was nice enough to teach him how
to growl. Now that Carson is eating more solid
foods, the dogs midsections seem to be spreading.
He will give them a lick or a whole gold fish
before eating one himself. We are so thankful to
have gentle and patient dogs. There really is so
much to say because he has changed so much. We
just had Easter weekend and he was able to do his
first Easter egg hunt with his cousin Aiden
Harner, 6 weeks. There are pictures of Aiden and
the hunt on the site. Grandpa Jim got to come
home from Iraq for two weeks and spent a lot of
time with Carson. They are going to be good
buddies when he gets home in May. I (mom) went on
vacation with Aubray and our moms to Florida. We
were able to watch some baseball games and I
caught up on some sleep. I think those are the
main updates for now. Happy Easter everyone!

8 Months

I am really far behind on my blogs, so here is an
update. Last week Carson weighed 17 pounds 12
ounces. He is getting bigger for sure and still
just as cute as always. He got his first tooth on
Christmas Eve and is now working on tooth number
3. The teething process has not been too bad,
just fussy at night. He is not crawling yet but
has found a way to get around without crawling.
He likes to roll from one side of the room to the
other. In fact, he will roll from one dog to the
other. He has found grabbing the fur between
Oliver's toes to be amusing. He also has figured
out how to feed the dogs his finger foods. The
already overweight puppies are thrilled about the
hand-outs. Carson pulled himself up last Friday
for the first time and does it periodically now,
especially in the bath tub. He loves music and
moves his arms and little body with the beat.
Another fun trick that Carson has started is
making car noises when playing with toy cars. We
all had a really nice Christmas and Carson got so
many fun toys to play with. He stays busy rolling
from one toy to the next. I think those are the
main updates. I added pictures to "6 months and
beyond" and to "Professional Pictures". Enjoy.

7 Months

It has been a long time since I have added an
entry. Things here are going well. Carson is
growing and changing so quickly. He is over 7
months old now and has many new tricks. He likes
to sit on his own and will put his arms up to be
held every time someone walks past him. He laughs
and chatters a lot. He does not have any teeth
yet, but I think he is working on that right now.
His weight is around 17 1/2 pounds. Carson loves
the dogs and has fun at Sandra's house every day.
He likes watching people sing and dance, so he is
lucky to have Elyse and Jack around for that.
Ryan is working in Cincinnati during the week, so
on the weekends, he and Carson are attached to
each other. Hopefully that work situation will
soon be changing. I will add more Christmas
updates soon. Check out the elf link if you have
a chance!

Five Months

I am really far behind on my blogs, but here is a
quick update. Carson has continued to change
quickly. The black and white picture on the main
page of this site was the day he hit 5 months
old. It is one of my favorites. This month he has
shown a huge interest in the animals around him.
He reaches out both arms for the dogs when they
walk by and thinks it is hilarous when they
wrestle. Sandra (babysitter) has two cats that
are cuddly and he is able to pet them some as
well. You will have to check out the pictures.
Maybe he will be a vet? Anyway, Carson is
laughing a lot and has found his voice, and it is
very loud. His laugh is a very loud scream which
draws a lot of attention in public. I don't think
he is going to be a quiet child. It is a fun
laugh though. He enjoys his solid food and is
rolling over more often now. I think that is it
for now.
